Here it is, the eve of the 10th anniversary of 09/11. Do you remember where you were? If you were old enough to remember, and you are an American, of course you do... you remember. We all do... we all will.
In the after math of the devastation, there were rally cries for vengeance - "Nuke 'em" , "let kick some Al Qaeda asses!", "Let's show them who's boss!" and our sons and daughters took up the call to protect our nation and our sovereignty. They went to war...the American people stood behind them clapping and cheering them on...
Then the months started rolling by and the death toll started climbing and the costs started escalating and the American people started growing restless. Questions were starting to be raised... Why was this taking so long? Why didn't we act fast enough? Why are our children dying fighting? Shouldn't we stop now???
As months progressed into years the American people started back peddling, started getting angry that the offensive against terrorism was taking too much time and the safety measures put in place to protect us all started to get inconvenient. Some started to backlash our government and started calling for our soldiers to come home. We started to forget...
Here we are, 10 years later, a nation divided, yet again... The President that was once tauted as a hero for his call to duty is now called "the worst President " and all of our nations short comings have become his fault. We made our own President a scapegoat. How soon we forget...
We must not forget, we must not forget, we must not forget. Please don't forget
